"After 50 Bombs" Comment, Congress Extends Support To Pratap Singh Bajwa
Congress MPs, MLAs and senior leaders today extended support to the state's Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, accusing the Aam Aadmi Party government of attempting to intimidate him. The leaders said Mr Bajwa has not said anything new and urged the government to focus on the threat to the peace and harmony in Punjab.
In an interview to a private television channel, Mr Bajwa had claimed that he had information that "50 bombs have reached Punjab". "Of this, 18 have exploded, 32 are yet to go off," he had said.
In a statement, the Congress leaders insisted what Mr Bajwa revealed was already in public domain and was being reported by the media.
Already there have been more than 20 incidents of grenade attacks on police stations, religious places and also the residence of a senior BJP leader, they said. Statues of Baba Saheb Ambedkar have also been desecrated, they pointed out.
Condemning what they called the high-handed attitude of the government and its attempts to intimidate and implicate Mr Bajwa.
Congress leaders reiterated that the threat to peace and harmony in Punjab was real. Mr Bajwa had only drawn attention to that while the government was trying to divert the attention, the party said.
They asserted that the Congress will continue to hold the government accountable no matter how much intimidation it tries to resort to.
The statement was signed by a number of Congress leaders, led by PCC chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.

Karun Nair smashed his first IPL half-century in seven years, taking Jasprit Bumrah to the cleaners in the process, as Delhi Capitals (DC) aimed to chase 206 against Mumbai Indians (MI). Brought in as an impact player and playing his first game of the season, Karun slammed his fifty in just 22 balls. He hit two boundaries off Bumrah in the latter's first over, before thrashing him for two sixes and 18 runs in his second. Nair's innings propelled DC to 72 in the powerplay alone.
Nair had been in excellent form for Vidarbha in domestic cricket, and seems to have translated his form into the biggest T20 league in the world.
His incredible knock sent social media into a frenzy.
What a story Karun Nair is making a statement.

Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2025: MI post 205/5
Tilak Varma's half century and impactful innings by Surya Kumar Yadav and Naman Dhir powered Mumbai Indian (MI) to post 205/5 in their 20 overs against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl against the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings for MI, both the batters counter-attacked DC bowlers, scoring 45/0 in just four overs Ryan Rickelton 27 (15) and Rohit Sharma 17 (9). Vipraj Nigam removed Rohit Sharma in the 5th over for 18 (12), Rohit's dry IPL season continues, and Surya Kumar Yadav joined Ryan Rickelton in the middle.
SKY started off his innings in style hitting the first ball for a six over fine leg. The Veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav cleaned up Ryan Rickelton in the 8th over for 41 (25), including five fours and two sixes. Tilak Varma joined Surya in the middle.
Surya and Tilak took their time in the middle and rotated the strike at regular intervals, because of a good power-play MI batters played risk-free cricket in the middle overs.
Tilak and Surya took on Mohit Sharma in his first over hitting him for 14 runs, followed by a six on the first ball of the next over by Surya. The duo added 50 runs in 29 balls Surya being the aggressor. Both the batters made 17 runs in Vipraj's 3rd over, where a catch of Tilak Varma also went down at deep mid-wicket by Tristan Stubbs.
Kuldeep Yadav showed his experience by removing Surya Kumar Yadav in the 14th over for 40 (28), his innings included five fours and two sixes. MI skipper Hardik Pandya joined Tilak in the middle.
Vipraj Nigam took another dream wicket as he removed Hardik Pandya in his last over for 2 (4), MI has been struggling to make partnerships throughout this IPL season. Naman Dhir joined Tilak. After 15 overs MI posted 146/4 Tilak Varma 38* (19) and Naman Dhir 1 (2).
Tilak Varma brought up his second fifty on the trot in the 17th over, he took 26 balls to reach the feat. DC showed brilliance on the field Axar Patel saved a six in the 18th over at long-on.

Who Is Lawyer C Sankaran Nair And Why His Story Needs To Be Told
As Bollywood gears up for the release of Kesari: Chapter 2 on April 18, 2025, all eyes are on Akshay Kumar, who steps into the role of Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair - a name that may not immediately resonate with many, but one that played a defining role in India's fight against colonial oppression.
Directed by debutant Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, the film is based on The Case That Shook the Empire, a historical account written by Nair's great-grandson, Raghu Palat and his wife, Pushpa Palat.

File photo of Chettur Sankaran Nair
At its core, the film highlights not only one of the darkest chapters in British colonial history - the Jallianwala Bagh massacre - but also the monumental courtroom battle that followed, spearheaded by a man of unshakeable convictions.
The Man Behind The 'Legend'
Born in 1857 in Mankara, a village in Kerala's Palakkad district, Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair hailed from an aristocratic lineage with close associations to the East India Company. His early education led him to Presidency College, Madras, where he was drawn to the field of law.
He began his legal career in 1880 at the High Court of Madras under the mentorship of Sir Horatio Shepherd, who would later become Chief Justice. Nair's brilliance and fierce independence quickly became evident.

Throughout his legal career, Nair was known for his refusal to conform. Early on, he opposed a resolution passed by Indian vakils (lawyers) of Madras that discouraged working under English barristers. For Nair, professional choices should be governed by merit and client interest, not nationalism or peer pressure. His stand led to his boycott by fellow lawyers, but he remained undeterred.
Nair was appointed Advocate-General and later became a judge of the Madras High Court. His judicial tenure was marked by bold judgments upholding inter-caste and inter-religious marriages, as well as rulings that challenged the rigid orthodoxy of caste-based discrimination. His 1914 ruling in Budasna v Fatima, where he held that converts to Hinduism could not be considered outcastes, remains a landmark judgment to this day.
Political Ascendancy And Reform
In 1897, he became the youngest president of the Indian National Congress at the time and the only Malayali to hold the position. Nair was not afraid to ruffle feathers - be it among the Anglo-Indian elite, the Brahmin establishment, or the British authorities.

File photo of Chettur Sankaran Nair
He participated in the Montagu-Chelmsford reforms and advocated for increasing Indian participation in governance. By 1915, he was inducted into the Viceroy's Executive Council, overseeing the education portfolio.
Yet, Nair's political ideology was as nuanced as his legal career. While he believed in constitutional reform, he was critical of certain aspects of Gandhi's political methods, particularly civil disobedience. This ideological divergence would later find expression in his controversial book Gandhi and Anarchy.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre - The Turning Point
On April 13, 1919, British Brigadier General Reginald Dyer ordered troops to open fire on a peaceful gathering in Amritsar's Jallianwala Bagh.
Hundreds of unarmed civilians, including women and children, were mercilessly gunned down. The massacre became a watershed moment in India's freedom struggle.

A still from Kesari Chapter 2
At the time, Nair was the only Indian member of the Viceroy's Executive Council. Appalled by the government's justification of the massacre, he resigned in protest - a move unprecedented for its sheer audacity.
His resignation sent shockwaves through the colonial administration and lent weight to nationalist sentiments across the country. It also led to the removal of martial law in Punjab and the establishment of a committee under Lord William Hunter to investigate the massacre.
The Courtroom Battle That Shook The Empire
In 1922, Nair published Gandhi and Anarchy, where he criticised British colonial rule and laid blame on Michael O'Dwyer, the then-Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, for the atrocities at Jallianwala Bagh. Infuriated, O'Dwyer sued Nair for defamation in an English court.
What followed was a historic trial at the King's Bench in London. The five-and-a-half-week-long case, the longest-running civil trial of its time, saw Nair being tried in front of an all-English jury presided over by a blatantly biased Justice Henry McCardie. Despite the skewed judicial environment, Nair stood his ground.

A still from Kesari Chapter 2
His lead counsel, Sir Walter Schwabe, mounted a spirited defence, though repeatedly interrupted by McCardie, who seemed intent on swaying the jury in O'Dwyer's favour.
Ultimately, the verdict went against Nair - 11 jurors to one. He was fined 500 Pounds and asked to pay trial expenses. Yet, when O'Dwyer offered to waive the penalty in exchange for an apology, Nair refused.
He would rather pay the price than retract the truth. "If there was another trial, who was to know if 12 other English shopkeepers would not reach the same conclusion?" he said.

Though he lost the case, Nair emerged morally victorious. His defiance brought international attention to British atrocities in India and galvanised nationalist resolve back home. His loss was, in many ways, India's gain.
A Legacy Carved In Conscience
Nair died in 1934, leaving behind a legacy that remains woefully under-acknowledged. His descendants continued to serve the nation: his grandson Kunhiraman Palat Candeth played a key role in the liberation of Goa in 1961, and other family members have held distinguished positions in Indian public life.

A still from Kesari Chapter 2
More than just a jurist or a politician, Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair was a man who refused to bend to injustice. In an era when many chose the safety of silence, he wielded his voice - and his pen - with courage.
With Kesari Chapter 2, his story will finally get the cinematic tribute it deserves. In an age of manufactured heroes, here is a real one. And his story, now more than ever, demands to be heard.

Watch: Shreyas Iyer Left Fuming At Punjab Kings Teammate Over DRS Call vs SRH
Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer was left fuming during their IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). PBKS' Glenn Maxwell thought he had dismissed Travis Head caught behind by wicket-keeper Prabhsimran Singh. However, upon seeing the umpire giving it not out, signalled for a DRS review straight away. Moments later, though, Shreyas Iyer was shown to be angry at one of his teammates. Iyer pointed at himself, with his teammates vying for a review. Eventually, Iyer decided to go up with a DRS review upon Maxwell's insistance.
As it turned out, Travis Head remained not out after the whole saga. NDTV could not verify which teammate Iyer seemed to be frustrated on. While what Iyer said was not audible, It was quite apparent that he said: "Pehle merese puch na (Ask me first)"

Earlierm Punjab Kings unleashed an all-out assault against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 27 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, riding on a blazing half-century from Shreyas Iyer (82) and late fireworks from Marcus Stoinis, who scored 34 in eleven deliveries to reach 245/6 in 20 overs, here at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
While the innings had contributions across the board, it was Iyer's calculated aggression that stood out, giving PBKS the perfect launchpad for a mammoth total.
Stoinis finally announced his arrival in IPL 2025 with a sensational finish, smashing four consecutive sixes to close out Punjab Kings' innings in stunning fashion. The Australian all-rounder, who had struggled to make an impact with the bat so far this season, turned on the heat in the final over, propelling PBKS to a commanding total of 245.
Unfortunately for Mohammed Shami, it was a night to forget as the seasoned pacer bore the brunt of Stoinis' onslaught. Shami's final over went for 27 runs, capping off a rough spell that read 4-0-75-0 — second most expensive in IPL history.
After electing to bat, PBKS came out swinging from the very first over. Prabhsimran Singh set the tone with a flurry of boundaries off Mohammed Shami, charging at the veteran seamer and carving him through mid-off and cover with disdain. He was in no mood to show respect and gave PBKS a flying start.
Harshal Patel bowled a game-changing over in the 18th, conceding just five runs and removing both Shreyas Iyer and Maxwell in quick succession. Iyer's 82 off 36 had anchored PBKS' innings but his departure meant PBKS had to rebuild in the final overs and Stoinis did it perfectly.

Putin Labels Russia's 1st Foreign Minister As "Foreign Agent", His Response
Russia has designated its first post-Soviet era foreign minister Andrei Kozyrev as a "foreign agent" over his views on President Putin and his fierce criticism of Moscow over the Russia-Ukraine war. The announcement was made by Russia's Ministry of Justice, which accused Mr Kozyrev of spreading fake news about the country.
Andrei Kozyrev had served as foreign minister under Boris Yeltsen - Russia's first primer minister after the collapse of the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1991. At the time Russia was under severe economic stress, and in order to liberalize the economy, had to maintain close and friendly ties with the West - US and its allies in Europe).
Years later, when Vladimir Putin became President, Mr Kozyrev, who by then had demitted office, opposed much of Putin's policies. For more than a decade, the disgruntled former diplomat stayed in Moscow, but in 2010, decided to move permanently to the United States, who welcomed him.
Since his departure from Moscow, Mr Kozyrev turned into an outspoken and staunch critic of Vladimir Putin, often voicing his unwavering disapproval of his policies. From the very beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, Mr Kozyrev slammed Russia's military campaign in Ukraine.
In the first few weeks of the war, Mr Kozyrev contacted his former colleagues in the Russian foreign ministry to resign in protest. Over the months and years, he built a campaign against the Russian government and continued to actively criticize Moscow's offensive.
Russia's current foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, used to be Mr Kuzyrev's deputy when the latter was foreign minister of Russia between 1990 and 1996. After the war in Ukraine broke out in 2022, Mr Kuzyrev had written, "There was a time when Lavrov used to have my back. Today, I would watch my back if he was behind me."
On Friday, Russia's Justice Ministry released a statement accusing its former foreign minister of distributing "false information" about the Russian government and its policies, as well as the Russian military. It noted Mr Kozyrev's persistent opposition towards the Kremlin and for Moscow's "special military operation" in Ukraine.
Labeling him a "foreign agent", the statement accused the former top diplomat of cooperating "with foreign platforms" to build an anti-Russia narrative in the United States and beyond, but did not specify the details of this claim.
Russia's "foreign agent" designation carries a negative Soviet-era connotation and makes it mandatory for people to identify themselves as a 'foreign agent' on all social media platforms as well as publications, both offline and online. It also makes it compulsory for them to declare their financial transactions and its trails within Russia.
In response to the Russian government's move to label him "foreign agent", Mr Kozyrev mocked the decision, saying it reflected Kremlin's mindset, which highlights "the stupidity of the regime".
"I am glad to join all those noble people who have likewise been designated foreign agents by Russia," he said.

Why Millionaires Are Fleeing London - What The Latest Data Reveals
Millionaires are fleeing London - not by handfuls or dozens, but by the thousands. In 2024 alone, more than 11,000 millionaires fled London for greener pastures. Most of them settled either in Asia or America. Though this has been happening for a few years now, what is worrisome is that the frequency and scale of the exits have risen exponentially.
Data collected annually by wealth advisory firms suggest that some of the more prominent reasons behind the exodus are ever-increasing taxes, failure to fully recover from the 2008 financial crisis, and Brexit - Britain's decision to separate itself from rest of Europe.
'LONDON IS FALLING'
London was once home to the world's highest number of dollar millionaires, but since 2014, the city faced a sharp decline. In the last decade alone, London has lost 12 per cent of its wealthiest residents. London has now dropped out of the 'top 5 wealthiest' list.
According to the World's wealthiest Cities Report, which is published by advisory firm Henley and Partners, more than 11,300 millionaires have abandoned London between January and December last year. A data intelligence firm New World Wealth seconds that finding.
But the situation isn't dire yet for The Square Mile, as the British capital is popularly called. The city still has 215,700 millionaires - though a year ago, that number was 227,000. For the first time in many decades, London couldn't make it to the 'Top 5 Wealthiest' list either. Los Angeles took its place at number five.
In fact, London lost the most number of millionaires (11,300) compared to any other European city. At 10,000, Moscow was second, despite Russia being at war.
REASONS FOR THE EXODUS
Business opportunities, especially in the IT sector, was also one of the reasons London was affected. "The growing dominance" of Asia and America's lead in tech "caused several tech entrepreneurs and millionaires to reconsider their base," said Andrew Amoils, head of research at New World Wealth.
Writing to news agency AFP, he claimed that "Brexit has arguably had an exacerbating effect on this". He also highlighted that taxes in London are among the highest in the world. "Capital Gains tax and estate duty rates in the UK are amongst the highest globally. This, he said, deters high net-worth individuals, wealthy entrepreneurs, and retired people from wanting to live in London, or for that matter, anywhere in the UK.
Another indicator, he said, is the "dwindling importance" of the London Stock Exchange, which now no longer figures in the top 10 stock exchanges in the world in terms of market capitalisation. Financial hubs in Asia, like Dubai, and closer home in Europe, like Frankfurt are much sought after, he said.
ASIA AND AMERICA - A MILLION-DOLLAR CHOICE
Asia and America are surging ahead in terms of millionaire residents. In the last decade, San Francisco Bay area saw a whopping 98 per cent rise in the number of millionaire residents , while Singapore in Asia recording a 62 per cent rise in millionaires.
Seven out of the top 10 cities with the maximum number of millionaire residents were either in America or in Asia. New York City, The Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Chicago were American cities in the 'top 10' list, while Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong were Asia's three on that list.
Cities like Dubai, Tokyo, Los Angeles all recorded a surge in dollar millionaires. New York City continued to hold the top spot with 384,500 millionaires.

Video - "That's Not Breakfast": Delhi Police To Man 'Drinking' Inside Metro
A man was seen on camera chilling with a glass of 'liquor' and a boiled egg inside a moving Delhi Metro train.
The police took note of it after the video went viral and a passenger complained to them.
In the video taken by a passenger, the man was seen taking three swigs of 'liquor', looking from side to side to check if he would be caught. He took a bite of the boiled egg between the swigs.
The Delhi Police posted the video on X and explained what action they have taken for 'drinking' in public, that too inside the metro.
"Eggs and alcohol in the metro? That's not breakfast - that's a breach. Break the rules, face the consequences. Rules aren't suggestions - they are the law," the police said in the post.
The accused is a resident of north Delhi's Burari.
"The accused person admitted his offence and a legal action was initiated against him u/s 59 of DMRC Act," the police said.
However, the man claimed he was drinking the apple juice Appy Fizz, and making a video of it.
"... In the video, I was seen eating an egg and drinking 'alcohol'. It was not daaru (alcohol) but Appy Fizz," the man said.
"I did the wrong thing. I request everyone not to do any such thing. Today I have to face the law because of what I did. I seek forgiveness," he said in the video posted by the police.

Peon Caught Evaluating Answer Sheets In Madhya Pradesh, Principal Suspended
The principal of a government college in Narmadapuram district and a professor were suspended after a viral video purportedly showed a peon evaluating students' answer sheets.
Sources said that aggrieved students had contacted local MLA Thakurdas Nagvanshi, who then lodged a complaint with the authorities.
Responding to the incident, Minister for Youth Affairs and Cooperatives Vishvas Sarang confirmed that the principal and the nodal officer have been suspended.
The minister said action has also been taken against the professor (who was assigned the work to evaluate answer sheets) and the peon.
"Instructions have been given to ensure such incidents do not recur. The government always strives to maintain the quality of higher education. This incident is unfortunate and unforgivable. The strictest action will be taken," he said.
Rakesh Verma, the principal of Pipariya-based Bhagat Singh Government College, claimed that he and Professor Ramgulam Patel were suspended on April 4.
Mr Verma stated that the answer sheet evaluation work had been assigned to a guest teacher, who then handed it over to a peon via a book lifter posted in the college.
A complaint was raised in January this year after the video clip surfaced on social media, Mr Verma added.
He further claimed that Professor Patel had been appointed as the nodal officer for the evaluation work by Raja Shankar Shah University, Chhindwara.
"I was implicated," Mr Verma claimed while sharing a letter related to Patel's appointment as nodal officer of the evaluation work, issued last August.
Mr Verma mentioned that he has written to the Higher Education Department, requesting the revocation of his suspension.

Trump Says "Not Looking" At Pause In Tariffs
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he was not looking at a pause on tariffs to allow for negotiations with trading partners but said he would talk to China, Japan and other countries about the duties.
Asked during a White House press availability with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he was open to pausing tariffs, Trump said: "Well, we're not looking at that. We have many, many countries that are coming to negotiate deals with us and they're going to be fair deals. And in certain cases they're going to be paying substantial tariffs. There'll be fair deals."
Trump reiterated his threat to add another 50% tariff on Chinese imports unless that country withdraws its threat to add a 34% tariff on its goods.

Netanyahu Meets Trump For Tariff, Gaza Talks
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, becoming the first foreign leader to personally plead for a reprieve from stinging US tariffs that have shaken the world.
Netanyahu and Trump are also set to discuss Gaza, where a short-lived US-brokered truce between Israel and Hamas has collapsed, and growing tensions with Iran.
Trump greeted Netanyahu outside the West Wing and pumped his fist, before the two leaders -- both wearing dark suits, red ties and white shirts -- went inside for a meeting in the Oval Office.
A planned press conference between the two leaders was canceled at short notice without explanation in an unusual move. During his last visit, Netanyahu and Trump both spoke to reporters in the Oval and then held a press conference.
The Israeli premier's visit is his second to Trump since the US president returned to power and comes at short notice -- just days after Trump slapped a 17 percent tariff on Israel in his "Liberation Day" announcement last week.
Trump refused to exempt the top beneficiary of US military aid from his global tariff salvo as he said Washington had a significant trade deficit with Israel.
Netanyahu said on his way to Washington on Sunday that they would discuss "the hostages, achieving victory in Gaza, and of course the tariff regime that has also been imposed on Israel."
"I'm the first international leader, the first foreign leader who will meet with President Trump on a matter so crucial to Israel's economy," he said in a video statement.
"There is a long line of leaders who want to do this. I believe this reflects the special personal relationship and the unique bond between the United States and Israel, which is so vital at this time."
Netanyahu met with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Sunday night soon after his arrival, according to his office.
The Israeli premier also met Trump's special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff on Monday.
Trump told reporters on Sunday that "We're going to talk about trade, and we're going to talk about the obvious subject."
"There's a lot of things going on with the Middle East right now that have to be silenced," he added.
Attack on paramedics
Israel's war in Gaza, sparked by Hamas's October 2023 attack, and the fate of the Israeli and US hostages still held in Gaza will be a major subject of discussion.
Israel resumed intense strikes on Gaza on March 18, and the weeks-long ceasefire with Hamas that the United States, Egypt and Qatar had brokered collapsed.
Trump has so far backed Israel to the hilt, accusing Hamas of failing to release the hostages.
The United States has also brushed off an incident in which 15 medics and rescuers were killed by Israeli forces last month in Gaza, sparking international condemnation.
Israel's army chief on Monday ordered a "deeper" investigation into the attack.
France's President Emmanuel Macron said Monday he had organized a call to Trump with the leaders of Egypt and Jordan during a visit to Cairo, with the leaders also calling for an immediate return to the truce.
The leaders also insisted that the Palestinian Authority alone must be in charge of the post-war governance of the Gaza Strip -- rejecting Trump's plan for the US to "own" the enclave after the war.
On Iran, Trump has been pressing for "direct talks" with Tehran on a new deal to curb the Islamic republic's nuclear program.
But Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said Tehran's proposal for indirect negotiations was "generous, responsible and wise."
There has been widespread speculation that Israel, possibly with US help, might attack Iranian facilities if no agreement is reached.
Netanyahu arrived direct from a visit to Hungary where Prime Minister Viktor Orban pulled his country out of the International Criminal Court (ICC) because the court issued an arrest warrant for the Israeli leader over the Gaza war.
Both leaders also spoke by phone with Trump on Thursday.

Twenty Years On, This US Couple's Disappearance Is Still A Mystery
Twenty years ago, on a Saturday night, Richard Petrone Jr and his girlfriend Danielle Imbo, accompanied by their friends, went out to a bar in Philadelphia. Once the outing was over, Mr Petrone Jr was supposed to drop Ms Imbo off at her home in New Jersey and head back to his apartment in Philadelphia. Their friends or anyone else never heard back from them after they left the bar, CNN reported.
Investigators found no forensic evidence of the couple's whereabouts after they were last seen at the bar, retired FBI special agent Vito Roselli, who was the case's first lead investigator, said.
Their truck was not spotted on any of the area's toll bridge cameras and the couple's credit cards and bank accounts registered no activity, he added.
The couple, along with Mr Petrone Jr's 2001 black Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, just disappeared into the night.
His mother Marge Petrone said she knew something was wrong when she didn't immediately hear back from him. "His phone was never off - it was always in his hands," she told CNN.
To this day, there are no leads in the case. No one in the family thinks the couple planned their disappearance and relocated to a different area to start a new life. At the time, they were parents to a teen and a toddler, respectively. According to their families, they would never just abandon their kids.
Mr Roselli, who now works in cybersecurity for an international company in Miami, says, "It stays with me. Like, 'What did I miss?' ... is constantly living rent-free in my head. But also because you want to see closure for the two families."
FBI's Philadelphia office says the matter remains a top priority. According to one of the statements, following the couple's disappearance, the FBI collaborated with law enforcement from other jurisdictions in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
They dispatched divers to investigate the Delaware River and other bodies of water between Philadelphia and Mount Laurel. Investigators followed leads in many states and examined financial, phone, and road toll data. They also looked into a flurry of theories, but nothing brought any fruitful results.
Technology was less developed in the early 2000s than it is now, which limited the scope of the investigation. While forensic science has advanced much since then, in this instance, it hasn't had much of an impact, as there is no physical evidence.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the case.

Students Say Missed Exam Due To Pawan Kalyan's Convoy, Cops Reject Claim
Thirty students in Visakhapatnam could not reach their exam centre and failed to take the engineering entrance exam, apparently after being delayed by the convoy of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The upset parents are now voicing their concern about the long-term impact on their children's academic futures.
Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan holds the crucial science and technology portfolio.
Students from the Pendurthi AI Digital JE Advanced programme -- who were taking the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) which determines admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) -- said with the traffic blocked, they had reached their exam center late. All 30 were turned away from the exam hall gates and not allowed to sit for the exam, they said.
B Kalavathi, the mother of a student, claimed that her son was delayed due to traffic restrictions enforced for Pawan Kalyan's convoy. "We were stuck in traffic. It was halted because Kalyan was on his way to Araku," Kalavathi was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India.
Another parent said he appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister to consider rescheduling the exam for the affected students.
In a press release, the All India Students' Federation (AISF) blamed the officials for inefficient traffic management during exam hours. The students had missed the opportunity to write the exam through no fault of their own, it said.
Karthik Yellapragada, the spokesperson of the opposition YSR Congress, said the state "deserves a better science and technology minister". "The actor-politician, true to his cinematic image, continues to treat public office like a press release event... It is time that we stop clapping to cinematic moments and start demanding real accountability," he added in a video message.
NDTV has contacted Pawan Kalyan's office but has received no response.
In a post on X, the city police claimed the students were expected to reach the exam centres by 7 am and had these 30 students been on time, there was no question of their being held up by traffic.
"As per the admit card of the above-mentioned examinations, every candidate has to report at 07:00 am and the gate of the examination centre will be closed at 8:30 am," read a rough translation of their post.
The Deputy Chief minister, the police said, "passed through the said junction at 8:41 am".
"Therefore, it is clear that the movement of the Deputy CM through that area at 8:41 AM has nothing to do with the late arrival of the students who were supposed to report at 7 am," the post read.
Traffic on the BRTS Road and Gopalapatnam-Pendurthi Service Road has not been stopped till 8:30 am to ensure free movement of the candidates to the exam centre, the police said.
"Moreover, since the commencement of these examinations on April 2, if we look at the first shift on each examination day, the number of absent candidates (including latecomers) at the centre was 81, 65, 76 and 61, which means that the number of absent students (including latecomers) is less today," it added.

"Wasn't Able To Digest...": Siraj's Honest Revelation On CT 2025 Snub
Pacer Mohammed Siraj on Sunday said he was initially struggling to come to terms after being dropped from the Indian team for the Champions Trophy earlier this year. Siraj delivered an outstanding performance to return figures of 4/17 in Gujarat Titans' seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Indian Premier League match. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Siraj said, "At one time, I was not able to digest it (having not been picked for Champions Trophy) but I kept my spirits up and worked on my fitness and game." He added, "Whatever mistakes I was making, I worked on those and I'm enjoying my bowling.
"As a professional, when you are consistently with the Indian team, a doubt grows in your mind (on him being dropped) but I cheered myself up and was looking forward to the IPL.
"When you execute what you are trying to deliver, you stay at the top. When you move the ball both in and out and it works instinctively, it gives you a different feeling." Siraj was delighted that he could perform so well with his parents watching him from the stands.
"When you come to your home ground, it's a special feeling. My family was there in the crowd and that lifted me up. I have played seven years for RCB. I have worked hard on my bowling and also on my mindset, it's working really well for me," Siraj said.
Bowling first, GT restricted SRH to 152 for eight.
Gill praises bowlers
Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill lavished praise on his bowlers after their comfortable victory over hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad, terming them "game-changers" in the shortest format.
"Bowlers are game-changers, especially in this format. Lot of people talk about T20s, batting and hitting, but we think matches are won by bowlers and that is why there is a lot of emphasis on bowlers (in this franchise)." Gill led from the front with the bat, remaining not out on 61 off 43 balls. The skipper was also pleased to see the talented Washington Sundar excelling on GT debut.
"He (Washington) was very close (to playing) in the game against Mumbai. He was padded the whole game, but with the impact player rule, it gives you an opportunity to play someone else (if you need an extra bowler)," Gill said of Washington.
"It was all about having a good partnership, and we said once we are set, we will take it from there." About Siraj, Gill said, "The energy he brings is tremendous. When playing against him, you want him in your team. His energy is infectious." On his part, Washington said the advice from his captain was to take the game deep.
"Skipper kept telling me to play as deep as possible. Got off to a good start and wanted to bat as deep as possible and finish for the team.
"This has been the trend in Hyderabad in the last few years. In the second innings, the wicket gets better and easier to chase 160-170 on the board. I was well aware of it and it helped me." SRH skipper Pat Cummins said, "Not a traditional Hyderabad wicket, tough to get fluency in your innings. At the end there, it did not spin as much as we thought. A few (runs) short and they batted well," he added.

Market Panic Deepens As World Scrambles To Temper Trump Tariffs
Asian markets took a huge plunge Monday as US futures pointed to significant losses on Wall Street over Donald Trump's punishing tariffs, even as countries sought compromise with the defiant president.
Trump denied Sunday he was intentionally engineering a selloff and insisted he could not foresee market reactions, saying he would not make a deal with other countries unless trade deficits were solved.
"Sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something," he said of the market pain that has seen trillions of dollars wiped off the value of US companies since the beginning of his tariff rampage.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, he added that he had engaged with world leaders on the issue to seek resolution over the weekend, claiming "they're dying to make a deal."
China retaliated against the United States on Friday, announcing it would impose tit-for-tat tariffs of 34 percent on all US goods from April 10 after Asian markets closed last week.
With the trade war escalating, stocks in Asia took a heavy hammering when trading resumed.
In early trade on Monday in Japan the Nikkei 225 was off more than seven percent and the broader Topix was down almost eight percent, while in Seoul South Korea's Kospi was down close to five percent. Australia's main stock index fell around six percent.
Futures contracts for the New York Stock Exchange's main boards were sharply down Sunday, suggesting more pain for battered Wall Street stocks when markets open Monday, while US oil dropped below $60 a barrel for the first time since April 2021.
'Deals And Alliances'
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel -- which has been hit with 17 percent tariffs, despite being one of Washington's closest allies -- will fly in for crunch talks with Trump Monday on the levies.
Britain's Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned in a newspaper op-ed that "the world as we knew it has gone," saying the status quo would increasingly hinge on "deals and alliances."
Trump's staggered deadlines have left space for some countries to negotiate, even as he insisted he would stand firm and his administration warned against any retaliation.
"More than 50 countries have reached out to the president to begin a negotiation," Kevin Hassett, head of the White House National Economic Council, told ABC's This Week on Sunday, citing the US Trade Representative.
Vietnam, a manufacturing powerhouse that counted the US as its biggest export market in the first quarter, has already reached out and requested a delay of at least 45 days to thumping 46 percent tariffs imposed by Trump.
Hassett said countries seeking compromise were doing so "because they understand that they bear a lot of the tariffs," as the administration continues to insist that the duties would not lead to major price rises in the United States.
"I don't think that you're going to see a big effect on the consumer in the US," he said.
'Markets Bloodbath'
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also told NBC's Meet the Press that 50 countries had reached out.
But as for whether Trump will negotiate with them, "I think that's a decision for President Trump," Bessent said.
"At this moment he's created maximum leverage for himself... I think we're going to have to see what the countries offer, and whether it's believable," Bessent said.
Other countries have been "bad actors for a long time, and it's not the kind of thing you can negotiate away in days or weeks," he claimed.
Despite hopes for negotiations to avert the worst economic carnage, in Asia the markets bloodbath continued into the new trading week.
In Saudi Arabia, where the markets were open Sunday, the bourse was down 6.78 percent -- the worst daily loss since the Covid-19 pandemic, according to state media.
Larry Summers, formerly Director of the National Economic Council under president Barack Obama, said "there is a very good chance there's going to be more turbulence in markets the way we saw on Thursday and Friday."
Peter Navarro, Trump's tariff guru, has pushed back against the mounting nervousness and insisted to investors that "you can't lose money unless you sell," promising "the biggest boom in the stock market we've ever seen."
Russia has not been targeted by the latest raft of tariffs, and Hassett cited talks with Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine as the reason for their omission from the hit list.
On Wednesday a White House official suggested the reason for Russia's omission was because trade was negligible thanks to sanctions.
Trump has long insisted that countries around the world that sell products to the United States are in fact ripping Americans off, and he sees tariffs as a means to right that wrong.
"Some day people will realize that Tariffs, for the United States of America, are a very beautiful thing!" Trump wrote on Truth social Sunday.
But many economists have warned that tariffs are passed on to consumers and that they could see price rises at home.

Men Carrying Saffron Flags Climb UP Dargah, Raise Slogans: Cops
Members of right-wing groups in Prayagraj created a ruckus on the occasion Ram Navami today by climbing on the dargah of Salar Masood Ghazi Miyan in the Sikandra area. A video of the incident is being widely circulated online.
Reports say some people carrying saffron flags suddenly climbed on the roof of Ghazi Miyan's dargah -- located in Ganganagar zone of Prayagraj -- in the afternoon.
They raised slogans and waved the flags near the dome of the dargah.
In the video, three men carrying saffron flags are seen reaching the dome, while dozens gathered below raise slogans.
The group had reached the dargah on bikes. They made off before the police arrived at the spot.
Manendra Pratap Singh, who leads the right-wing group, has described himself as a student leader of Allahabad University, former state president of Karni Sena and a leader of BJP in his Facebook profile.
Singh uploaded the video in a Facebook post. The caption said that Salar Masood Ghazi was an invader and his dargah should not be there in the pilgrim city of Prayagraj. He demanded that the dargah be demolished immediately.
The police are investigating the matter.
Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said some miscreants waved saffron flags and raised slogans at the dargah, reported news agency Press Trust of India.
Departmental action is being taken against the policemen who were responsible for maintaining order at the spot, he said.
The DCP said there are five shrines at the Ghazi Miyan Ki Dargah. Both Hindu and Muslim devotees come to offer 'chadar' at the dargah, he said.
Legal action will be taken after investigating this matter, the officer added.

To PM's Tamil Nadu Funds Remark, P Chidambaram's 'Economic Metric' Reply
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remark that the Centre allocated for Tamil Nadu's development three-time higher funds compared to the period before 2014.
The former Union finance minister said even a first-year economics student would be able to tell that the "economic metric" would always be higher when compared to previous years.
"Hon'ble prime minister and central ministers constantly say that they have given more money to Tamil Nadu in 2014-24 than was given in 2004-14. For example, Hon'ble prime minister said that his government has given for railway projects in Tamil Nadu seven times more money than before," Chidambaram said in a post on X.

For example, Hon'ble PM said that his government has given for railway projects in TN seven times more money than before
Ask a first year student of…
"Ask a first-year student of economics. She will tell you that the 'economic metric' will always be higher than in the previous years. The GDP's size is bigger now than before. The size of the central budget is bigger every year than in the previous year. Government's total expenditure is bigger every year than in the previous year," he added.
"You are one year older than in the previous year. In terms of 'numbers', the number will be bigger but is it higher in terms of proportion of GDP or in terms of proportion of total expenditure?" the former Union finance minister asked.
Against the backdrop of the ruling DMK crying foul over the allocation of funds, PM Modi -- during his visit to the state on Sunday -- said the central government allocated three times more money for Tamil Nadu's development over the past decade compared to the period before 2014.
He noted that this increased funding had greatly contributed to Tamil Nadu's economic and industrial growth.
Despite the increased allocation, some "cry" over funds, the prime minister said, referring to beneficiaries from the state in respect of several initiatives.

Walk On Knees, Lick Coins: Firm's Punishment For Underperforming Employees
A private marketing firm here has been accused of subjecting its underperforming employees to degrading treatment, including making them walk on their knees like chained dogs and lick coins from the floor.
The state Labour department has ordered a probe into the alleged inhuman workplace harassment after the disturbing visuals were aired by local television channels.
As the issue came to the light, state Labour Minister V Sivankutty ordered an inquiry into the undated incident and instructed the district labour officer to submit an immediate report on the incident.
The visuals purportedly showed a person using a leash to force a man to crawl on his knees on the floor, resembling a dog.
Later, some employees told a TV channel that those who fail to achieve targets were subjected to such punishments by the management of the firm.
According to police, the incident allegedly took place in connection with a private marketing firm functioning in Kaloor and the crime allegedly occurred at nearby Perumbavoor.
The police told reporters that they haven't received any complaint and the owner denied the allegations.
Quoting the owner of the firm, they said the alleged harassment might have taken place in a firm in Perumbavoor which used to market and sell the products of the establishment in Kaloor.
"No case has been registered so far and an investigation is underway," an officer said.
Labour Minister Sivankutty termed the visuals "shocking and disturbing" and said it cannot be accepted at any cost in a state like Kerala.
"I have ordered a probe into the incident and instructed the district Labour officer to submit a report in connection with the incident after carrying out a probe," he told the media.
Later in the day, the State Human Rights Commission registerd a case into the incident based on a complaint filed by High Court lawyer Kulathoor Jaisingh.
Meanwhile, the Kerala State Youth Commission also intervened and registerd a case on its own into the alleged harassment incident.
The panel directed the District Police Chief to submit a report in this regard.
In a statement, Commission Chairman M Shajar said legal action should be taken against such practices that are unacceptable in a civilised and democratic society.
"As a civilised society, we should collectively respond against such anti-social trends," he said.

USAID Team Laid Off While In Myanmar Earthquake Zone: Report
Three US aid workers were laid off while in Myanmar helping the rescue and recovery from the country's massive earthquake, a former senior staffer said, as the Trump administration's dismantling of foreign aid affects its disaster response.
After travelling to the Southeast Asian nation, the three officials were told late this week they would be let go, Marcia Wong, a former official at the US Agency for International Development, told Reuters.
"This team is working incredibly hard, focused on getting humanitarian aid to those in need. To get news of your imminent termination - how can that not be demoralising?" said Wong, former deputy administrator of USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, which oversees Washington's disease response efforts overseas.
President Donald Trump's government has pledged at least $9 million to Myanmar after the magnitude-7.7 quake, which has killed more than 3,300. But his administration's massive cuts to USAID have hindered its ability to respond, while China, Russia, India and other nations have rushed in assistance.
The Trump administration has moved to fire nearly all USAID staff in recent weeks, as billionaire Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency has slashed funding and dismissed contractors across the federal bureaucracy in what it calls an attack on wasteful spending.
The three USAID workers have been sleeping on the streets in the earthquake zone, Wong said, adding that their terminations would take effect in a few months. Residents have been sleeping outside for fear of aftershocks and further building collapses,
Wong said she is in contact with the remaining USAID staff and that she heard about the terminations after an all-staff meeting on Friday.
Former USAID staff say most of the people who would have coordinated the response have been let go, while third-party implementing partners have lost contracts.
The US State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday rejected criticism that Washington was slow to respond to the March 28 earthquake because USAID was dismantled.
Rather, he told reporters in Brussels, Myanmar was not "the easiest place to work", saying the military government does not like the United States and prevents it from operating in the country as it wants to.
The United Nations has said the junta was limiting humanitarian aid.
Rubio said the US would no longer be the world's top humanitarian donor, calling on other wealthy nations to step up in assisting Myanmar.

MI need 24 off 7 balls at that moment but Avesh Khan successfully defended 22 runs in the final over to clinch the match for LSG. "It was obvious that we needed some hits and he was not getting... in cricket, one of those days come when you really try but it does not happen. I think the decision speaks for itself why we did it," Hardik Pandya said after the defeat.

Trump's Tariffs Announcement Batters US Markets, S&P 500 Down Over 4%
The sell-off in Wall Street stocks deepened in mid-morning trading Thursday, with the S&P 500 losing more than four percent following US President Donald Trump's sweeping tariff announcement.
Trump's broadly crafted new levies battered leading names in banking, technology, apparel and most other areas. Among the S&P 500's 11 sectors, only consumer staples was solidly in positive territory, with the other 10 in the red or nearly flat.
Near 1510 GMT, the S&P 500 stood at 5,420.15, down 4.4 percent.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 3.7 percent to 40,644.74, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index plunged 5.7 percent to 16,591.55.
The rout follows Trump's "Liberation Day" tariff announcement in which he unveiled a broad swath of new levies affecting all US trading partners.
"Clearly what was announced was close to the worst-case scenario and markets were not prepared for that and are reacting accordingly," said Angelo Kourkafas, senior investment strategist at Edward Jones.
Adam Sarhan of 50 Park Investments said the tariffs will reduce corporate earnings and could reignite inflation and prompt counter tariffs from US trade partners.
"Here you have a tremendous amount of uncertainty... and that's why the market is heading for a bear market," said Sarhan, who also thinks a US recession is likely at this point.
"The market is a forward-looking mechanism," he said. "You typically have recessions after a bear market."
But Sarhan believes in Trump's plan, viewing US trade and budget deficits as unsustainable.
Especially hard-hit sectors included apparel, where Nike, Macy's and Gap all suffered double-digit drops following large new levies on China, Malaysia and other countries that are home to textile infrastructure.
Apple, which relies heavily on Chinese manufacturers for its products, was another big loser, sinking 8.8 percent. Amazon fell 8.2 percent, while Nvidia lost 6.8 percent.
Jason Schenker of Prestige Economics said in a note that the Trump administration could later drop the levies after negotiations on trade or other political priorities.
"We see the Trump administration's policies as a manifestation of outcome-focused economic Realpolitik rather than process-focused diplomacy," Schenker said.
"Recession and stagflation risks are rising with tariff uncertainty," he added.
